    Hello,

    I'm Luc Lang, from Quebec City, Canada.

    I'm a sports journalist for the oldest newspaper in North America: The Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph, which had its first issue back in 1764.

    I'm hoping to make new contacts here, and hopefully get some ideas, as well.

    The pandemic is causing havoc around the globe but also on the local sports scenes everywhere.

    I'm also a professional public address announcer. I have done many Canadian hockey championships across Canada. So, yes, I'm bilingual, English and French.

    Glad to be aboard.

    Stay safe;

    Luc Lang

    Welcome, Luc. Quebec City is one of the most amazing places in the world. And I got paid $3o a game to be the PA announcer for the ECHL's Raleigh IceCaps for two seasons ... translating the game from hockey to Southern. Apparently there is no appropriate French translation for the F-word, based on yelling between the penalty boxes.

    The NHL lost a lot of soul the day the Nordiques died.

    Made it to Quebec City when I covered the Kings. When the cabbie realized me and another writer didn't speak French, he was less than friendly. He made a fast turn and we slid down a hill sideways. When we told him to take us to the media entrance at Le Colisee, he dropped us on the wrong side. He had to walk halfway around the arena in the snow.

    The other memorable thing was the locker rooms. They were on opposite sides of the rink. We finished with the Kings and wanted to go over to the Nordiques locker room. We asked the attendant how to get there, he pointed toward the door in the dasher boards. We walked right across the ice. It was nice I didn't fall on my ass.
