Trump is going to pardon himself as his last act as president and there’s not shit anyone can do that to stop it and there’s not anyone who can do shit about it after the fact.

In the 2021, the DOJ election will start a highly contentious investigation and if they do indict, which is doubtful, it will go to SCOTUS where Alito and Thomas will side with Trump no matter what and then he needs the three he appointed, to complete the deal.

They will. This will also be happening with the backdrop of a vaccine rollout and things generally getting better, while Trump will be campaigning for 2024, screaming bloody murder at every perceived slight or annoyance, and this nightmare will never end.

Well, it will end when he dies.

I’m probably too optimistic but pardoning himself almost seems more damaging than the endless legal fight that would come if anyone actually pursued charges. Pardoning Rudy and the Dumbass Brothers and Jared... that’ll be a really bad look that’ll be difficult to spin, IMO.

An actual court case, meanwhile, he can throw up a bunch of dirt on something like that and give his base at least a shred of a reason to believe him. He managed to get people to believe he didn’t have a quid pro quo with Ukraine by demanding people read the transcript... which 100% proved his guilt.

Have there been any polls yet in the Georgia races? I still have a hard time believing that Democrats are gonna win one of those seats, never mind two. I hope I’m wrong.
