Maybe this belongs in the will COVID burst the sports bubble thread as the SEC made $55 mil a year from CBS.

And Baylor has paused football activities, but still plans to host Oklahoma State on Saturday.

Good for them. They join Virginia (and maybe others) from the ACC in justifiably saying, "We've done our job. We've given you the inventory you demanded. Our work is done. We're not going to extend this charade any longer by playing in a bowl game that has all the risks but none of the 'rewards' commonly associated with postseason play."

Worth noting BC had no, repeat no, covid cases among the football program once training camp started. Sorry, BC had one positive test, during the last week of the season.

I know, I know, completely different budgets. Not a great look after all the layoffs in Bristol of late.

I have to think that $300m covers the top tier and a few other games a week (SEC Network) etc. Really bad news for the Pac-12 which will miss out on the 12:30 p.m. local time window for the forseeable future. Fox has the Big10. Does NBC or CBS go in with an ACC/Big12/Pac-12, double or triple header line-up?

NBC isn't surrendering the Irish. ACC and Big12/Longhorn already have relations with the Mothership.

No surprise, the Pac-12 is doomed. Thanks, Larry Scott.

Not a defender of Scott, who appears to be one of those guys who is able to dazzle people in job interviews and talk about gadgets and gizmos etc. but is more a salesman than anything (Shoot, he had the BALLS to claim that the conference would keep rights "in house" when the truth was, no media entity wanted anything to do with the conference). - the problem with the Pac-12 is the school presidents took the money and don't like when the networks want them to dance - and fans don't care enough to watch - in person or on TV - and the teams just aren't as good as others in the rest of the country. And they are almost all in markets competing against pro franchises. Scott has nothing to do with the underlying problems facing the conference. Shoot - when two of the top two QB prospects in the country, not only bail out of SoCal, but head to Alabama and Clemson - Larry Scott has nothing to do with that.

Good Luck SpartanSquad - hoping SJ State finishes off the undefeated season tomorrow against Nevada. Then Bring on Boise.
