I know this sounds crazy, but I think one of the worst things the Pac 12 did these past few years is have their best team play in a "neutral" site in SEC-land. Always come home with an L; and their football seasons were taking on water while still in August.

TERRIBLE decision. For fuck's sake, sacrifice a couple of sheckels, and have home and homes.

But at this point - the only way the Pac-12 is going to claw their way back to relevance is via non-conference matchups with teams the "matter." They can't count on USC beating Notre Dame (or the domers being good) every year. I like that you see more teams scheduling home and homes in SEC-land, mid-tier Big 10 schools etc. Non-conference games create the narrative of any particular season. And the truth is - outside of the top tier of the SEC, Big 10 and Clemson, the rest of those conferences aren't so tough.

I'm certain that Alabama will be happy to put this one in the trophy case alongside several other disputed national championships.

The comments allegedly made by school president Noelle Cockett on Tuesday were about her concerns with Maile’s “religious and cultural background.” Maile, a former Utah State player, is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
