UCLA and USC both wearing the darks. Wish teams would do that more often, whenever feasible.

UCLA still needs to bring back the rounded jersey numbers.

That game was always my favorite as a kid, perhaps for that reason alone. Loved the light blue vs. cardinal.

Texas in 2021 hopes it's USC in 2020: a team that thought about whacking the coach in order to hire Urban Meyer but had to keep the incumbent when Urban declined.
Trojans go to 5-0 overall, 3-0 when trailing in the final minute.

IIRC, Pete Carroll got that tradition restarted. There was some issue the first time they did it, because it's supposed to cost the home team a timeout. So Carroll and whoever UCLA's coach was at the time (Jim Mora Jr. maybe?) just agreed that the visiting team would call timeout before the first play to even things out. Not sure if the NCAA changed the rule or not.
Georgia and Florida did it for a few years in the Cocktail Party, too. Can't remember any others offhand.

That's a really weird rule. The basketball equivalent would be a technical foul before the opening tip, right?

Didn't just beat them. Flogged. Bludgeoned. Mendenhall proved he had quit before halftime when he didn't use a time out until 10 seconds remained. He kept quitting when he insisted on punting in the second half.

That's a good analogy. It'd be like getting a technical for not having the right number of players on the scorebook, or dunking during warmups.

All right, people. I could never write headlines worth a damn.
Come up with a headline for LSU-Fla based on the shoe-throwing incident.

    Neuheisel was UCLA's coach.

Rugby is most often colour on colour for games and it’s rarely an issue for players or spectators. There are a few times it’s been close (Georgia -Wales last RWC) but I think more sports could do it.

    That needs pinball sound effects.
