— People who identify with a different gender than their biological sex are crazy, says the people who believe the world exists as it is because a naked woman ate an apple after being told to by a talking snake.

Just wrote a check for property taxes that I drop off at the village hall. It was the third check I wrote since I paid last year’s taxes, none of which were mailed.

 

I pay a handful of bills online, but avoid having things auto bank drafted. Just feel uneasy having companies able to snatch money from my account. I like the chance to pay or not depending on whether I received the service I was supposed to get.

Only thing I have auto drafted is my car insurance, because the premium dropped by more than $100 for doing so.

Just paid mine, too. Kind of puts a damper on the holiday season.

I’ve written exactly one check this year: To the guy who fixed my gutters after Tropical Storm Zeta blew through.

 

That’s one helluva discount for auto draft.

 

I’ve had the same box of checks since 2007.

 

In case I wasn't clear . . . the yearly premium. Not getting $100 off each month. Heck, I only pay $86.34/month for our two cars.

 

Damn guy. I pay about $95/mo for one car. That's a helluva deal.

I also don't like auto pay. It goes back to when I was really living pay check to pay check and really wanted to make sure I had the funds to cover everything before the funds were taken out.

 

It would be higher, but I don't have collision. Not with 20- and 30-year-old cars.
