Joshua looked so good when he put Klitschiko down. Maybe just not have it upstairs. Fury is someone who’s not only good but having fun too.

Funny, the person who most bought into the mythology of Joshua's invincibility was . . . Joshua.

Now that he understands he can lose, he seems a great deal more tentative.

That's why I asked the question about his mental state upthread.

And let's remember that, great as he may have been, Klitschko was 41 years old when Joshua beat him.

Guys react differently to being knocked down. Joshua had Klitschko on the ropes, Klitschko rallied and knocked him down before Joshua rallied back. Joshua knocked down Ruiz and looked to finish him but got caught and hurt and eventually lost.

So I think right now he just doesn't trust his ability to finish off opponents. I just credit Klitschko for being a great champion and Ruiz for fighting like he had nothing to lose more than anything Joshua did wrong in those fights.

I know there are a lot of really good fighters in and around his weigh class but man, Shakur Stevenson is a fine looking fighter.

Those weight classes are loaded. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out in the next few years.

He looked really good, shutting out a decent fighter.

Clary is not top tier, but he's no bum.

I think Joshua knows how to fight. He does not need strategic advice from some armchair warrior sportswriters ) Fury is going to be a colossal challenge. Fury may be the most complicated difficult style in heavyweight history, so tall, elusive, athletic, smart, great jab and movement, combinations, mentally strong. But Joshua is an incredible warrior too with many weapons and attributes. His performance to beat Klitschko was an all time masterpiece, as was Fury's win over Klitschko. Both Klitschkos were all time greats top five, even at the later age. Fury vs AJ will be an incredible fight. Hopefully they pay Usyk to wait and get it on next. The sport needs this fight now. Fury's psyche warfare and mind game skills are second to Nunn, not even second to Muhammad Ali. AJ is no dummy and it will be interesting how AJ deals with Fury's mind games. LOVE this fight!

Stevenson is daring to be great already by challenging Loma, that would be another superfight. Don't think he's ready for Loma yet though.

Yes Wladimir was 41 vs AJ but remember his brother Vitali and Roy Jones both said it was the best offensive performance of his career. The word out of the Wladimir camp for that fight was how lucky they felt that Wladimir was able to train so hard and his body survived that camp without injury. That was one reason why he decided to retire and not do the AJ rematch - he was not sure if his body could be so lucky again to make it through another training camp.

Klitshcko was a few years past his prime at that point.

Roy Jones and Vitali Klitschko both said it was the best offensive performance of Wladimir's career. Convention wisdow is Wladimir was 41 but Wladimir looked as great as he ever looked in his career in the AJ fight but it's possible AJ was the best opponent he ever faced.

Wonder if Jack Dempsey threw any fights.

In all seriousness, this was in 1927, when training and nutrition wasn't the greatest. Just a tank.
