wicked, I believe in happy endings. That shit is my Ewok celebration.

When I see them laying down a fresh layer of ice at the rink down the road, I know there's been a recalibration somewhere. Stain is right to be optimistic.

I'd love to join that party, but give me edibles instead of smoking.

My school district has set Jan. 19 as the date when middle and high schools resume in-person classes. This is about the fifth or sixth time (I think; it's hard to keep track) they've moved the goalposts.

I don't see in-person school happening until August — and that's only if the vaccine is as effective as it's supposed to be.

As I have said, we chose in-person for our sixth-grader, but it's been all online since school started. I'm inclined to keep it that way, but being away from school has very much negatively affected my girl's outlook and class performance.

Absolute game changer, if it's widely available.

We did a hybrid from the first week of October through the week before Thanksgiving when they shut it. The younger kids, K-3, went for a few weeks first then everyone. The middle and high schools were a mess with cases for the short time they were there. All four of our high schools were considered outbreaks by the county and they definitely were looking at the numbers. Elementary schools did pretty good, although there were moments of staffing issues. I fully think we will likely be back in some form after the holidays because that's what I think the public wants regardless. Our district basically fired the superintendent last week, although it was PR'd an early retirement, and COVID handling had to be the main reason. I think the pressure for the vocal parents will result in a back to school plan sooner than later.

I would think it would be a smart move to not have middle and high schoolers go back for a while. Hybrid is dumb and they obviously can't handle being in person both in terms of how safe they are and that they spread it a bit more easily. I say give the elementary kids a shot, and even full-time, if there is a good plan in place. I just want consistency along with the safety. There are a lot of opinions here based recently, but my kids (grades K through 10th) have done way better with a focus and right now that's remote. If that focus is in person all the time and it works, obviously that is what I want, but the hybrid crap sucked.

In person only after every soul who works in the school has been immunized. Elementary schools first.
