    My grandfather, a WWII Navy vet (who also looked like Leslie Neilson with a broken nose) was a lifelong Giants fan and h-a-t-e-d Phil Simms. He had no problem with AHS, loved Phil McConkey (of course), laughed at Jim Burt's 6 4, and reveled in the linebackers but, for him, the experience of watching Simms play aligned with my experience of watching Simms in the booth. He delighted in that 1990 Super Bowl seeing Hostetler on the field.
