IIRC, the keeping of Browns' records by the new franchise was agreed to by the Ravens as part of the new franchise's setup by the league. It was one of the demands of the more litigious Cleveland fans, and since it cost exactly nothing, the league was happy to throw them a history bone.

I believe that is all correct. It's still stupid.

They should, but I'm not sure they would want to. It's not like there isn't precedent on something like this. The Houston Oilers and Tennessee Titans are considered the same franchise in terms of league history. Technically, Earl Campbell and Warren Moon are part of that franchise's history. The same holds true for franchises that didn't move. Johnny Unitas never played in Indianapolis, but he is part of that team's history.

As weird as it is to be on the same side of an argument as oop, I am 100 percent in agreement with the above. It's ridiculous to act like these Browns are the same franchise as the original Browns while the Ravens were an expansion team.

Pittsburgh would gladly take Baker off your hands for 2021.

There is no correct answer to Lawerence and the Jets.

If they draft him, he’s throwing to... can anyone even name five Jets right now? Perriman, Ty Johnson, Lam Jones and Kyle Brady, right?

They trade him and he has a great career, then, of course, they should have drafted him.

    Catch 22

Never good when I recognize two of those names off the legendary Jets Draft Disasters reel:

My favorite part is at 0:39, when you can clearly hear someone yell, "OH NO!" immediately after Pete Rozelle says, "Fullback..."

Jamison Crowder and whoever they sign in free agency. Again, 7 picks in the top 100 and abundance of cap space.

The Jets have no one on their current roster that they drafted and has been in a single pro bowl. This goes well back over a decade. Anyone decent, like two players, have left.

What they have done previously is irrelevant to the new regime. Douglas has been there a year, has the cap space and draft capital to have a shot at turning it around. He might not but it will have nothing to do with the past.

Marcus Mariotta was at various times this season backing up Nathan Peterman.

Some of those picks don’t belong in that montage. McNeil became a star. O’Brien had some excellent seasons behind a really shitty offensive line, although granted, he wasn’t Marino. Lageman became a very good player. Mitchell had a couple decent seasons.

A few of the others, yeah, they were busts (Vick, Thomas) or meh (Jones, Brady) And they forgot about Mike Haight.
