I see your point and you’re probably right, but from a storytelling perspective, they’d have to shoehorn the character into the storyline. The character would be extraneous to the plot in direction they’re heading.

Hit this button on the editor’s menu bar:

    It give you this menu:

You can also hard-code it in your text and give your spoiler section a title:

    Code:
[spoiler=The Rescue and … that guy]

yadda yadda yadda (there are actual spoilers in the section below, folks!)[/spoiler]
Which when you do it works like this:

The Skywalker CGI face wasn’t great — you’d think they’d have advanced those abilities a couple of years after Rogue One — but you can also explain that by saying that Luke was looking at someone who reminded him not just a little but almost totally of his teacher Yoda and he could have been trying to cover up a severe emotional reaction to that.

Also, great nonverbal work by Giancarlo Esposito. Luke Skywalker has to be an absolute bogeyman for surviving Imperials, and to just have him show up just when you think you’re in your moment of triumph and absolutely mow through your vaunted Dark Troopers clearly had Moff Gideon shitting his armor.

Also, what’s Gideon’s armor made of? Beskar? Tough stuff.

As for why they’re not just buttons, I have no idea. I ain’t in charge here.

That was outstanding. Both generations in our house loved it.

I was one of those people. The attempt to rebrand Leia Organa as a princess rankled.

Favreau was able to add some nods to movie lovers and pop culture fans without beating everyone over the head with the presence of said winks and nods. Mayfield's mention of TPS reports in Chapter 15 is a good example.

    Sounds like a plan.

Chapters 15 and 16 were the best of the season. I'd like to see Mayfield turn up again. Cara Dune ended up being awfully impressed by his marksmanship. They might make an interesting duo to watch.

As much as I've enjoyed Toddler Yoda, that episode seemed to telegraph some things about Season Three. The final episode confirmed it.

I watched the final episode with friends who were either with me when I saw the original trilogy in theaters or are old enough to remember seeing them that way. When we saw the hooded robe, we immediately started guessing which Jedi would walk through the doors of the bridge. It was an emotional moment for a lot of us. Seeing a young Mark Hamill and R2D2 would have netted cheers anytime. Maybe it was that much more powerful because for so many of us it was throwback to who we were.

Favreau has had a pretty interesting career at this point, with success in a wide range of genres. Still, if you had told me that the guy who directed Cowboys & Aliens would be the one to revitalize the Star Wars series, I would have thought you're effing crazy.

I think that came up before on this thread, but it bears repeating. Between directing Iron Man and creating The Mandalorian, he has made a tremendous contribution not just to geek culture, to all of our popular culture.
