There is fanboy chatter that Sebastian Stan could take on the role, mostly because they look alike. If they are going to do a lot more with Luke, I think they really have to recast the character.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they did that. Heck, I wouldn't mind if they tossed out the final three movies and created a new post-Return of the Jedi continuity starting with The Mandalorian, but that is too much to wish for.

I’d be down with that, but it would mean Disney acknowledging they messed up the latest three films.

There’s a lot to like in the new trilogy (just as there was in the prequel trilogy), but they really screwed up by not writing a cohesive three-film arc from the outset. They had no end game in mind and it shows.

Agreed. They seem poised to apply the MCU model to Star Wars now. The problem is they already have those three movies as a screwed-up endpoint for the stories currently happening in The Mandalorian.

They are probably just going to stick to telling stories around those movies rather than replace them. They can simply tell stories set before the existing movies or in between them.

The other option would be to go full reboot. Banish every movie set after Return of the Jedi to Legends status. Recast everybody from the original trilogy. Suffer through the fans screaming and tell good stories until they come around.

The dark side is still there after Rise of Skywalker. It’s evil. It will never go away. Just start telling stories post-Ben Solo.

Yeah, but the Sith Order? Gone … until for storytelling purposes someone finds an old Sith holocron and unleashes chaos once again.

Brilliant show that got all the little things right. It reminded us what a Star Wars adventure can be like once again if we actually care about the characters.

And I've got to say, I wept during one of the tie fighter chases. ("I've always wanted to fly one of these things."-Poe Dameron)

I eased back in my comfy couch, and I wept.

That's not a bad list. I would put Solo below the first season of The Mandalorian. I keep wanting to put The Phantom Menace higher only for the presence of Darth Maul. (Ray Park's brilliance as a stunt man and fight choreographer makes up for a lot.), but those are minor.

I am the rare Star Wars fan who puts A New Hope first, and that is simply putting sentiment ahead of quality. Empire is the better film, but nothing holds quite the same place in my heart as the original.

It suddenly occurred to me that many of you haven’t heard this before. I own all of the radio versions of the original trilogy, but this edit is nice and about 90 minutes shorter because it trims the credits from each episode. It also tweaks the sound effects.

    Cast list:

    Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker
    Ann Sachs, Princess Leia Organa
    Perry King, Han Solo
    Bernard "Bunny" Behrens, Obi-Wan Kenobi
    Brock Peters, Lord Darth Vader
    Anthony Daniels, C-3PO
    Keene Curtis, Grand Moff Tarkin
    John Considine, Lord Tion
Stephen Elliott, Prestor – more widely known as Bail Organa
    David Ackroyd, Captain Antilles
    Adam Arkin, Fixer
    Kale Browne, Biggs Darklighter
    David Clennon, Motti
    Anne Gerety, Aunt Beru
    Thomas Hill, Uncle Owen
    David Paymer, Deak
    Joel Brooks, Heater
    John Dukakis, Rebel
    Stephanie Steele, Cammie
    Phillip Kellard, Customer #2

Support cast includes James Blendick, Clyde Burton, Bruce French, David Alan Grier, Jerry Hardin, John Harkins, Meshach Taylor, Marc Vahanian, John Welsh, and Kent Williams.
