    I'll give you my very best semi-informed guess: Clark and UAB DC David Reeves are very tight, and UAB's D has been ranked in the top ten over the last three years. I suspect that they wanted to retain Kevin Steele and Clark was unwilling to cut Reeves loose.

    If your theory is right, this was their way of saying, “We offered him. He rejected us.”
    If you want the guy, you let him choose his staff. I’m glad for him and UAB. If he was known as a Tide fan in the past, he would have been starting with a liability.
    As much as Auburn and Alabama hate each other, I’m surprised that previous affiliation with the other school isn’t an automatic disqualifier.
