I think the strain coming from England is going it infect a shit ton more people who are careless, so that will hurt us but help us get closer to April.

I think this mutant strain is real and serious. That being said, living over here, I think they trotted it out as an excuse for our infection rate spiraling upward. Nothing to do with throwing open the shops, theaters, pubs, etc. etc. wide open at the start of December.

Sadly, every other country around us took this seriously. Now we're the lepers of Europe and there's hand-to-hand combat in the local Tesco for the last bag of conference pears from Spain.

At the rate things are going, herd immunity through vaccination or natural spread by April looks like a push. That's only if this new strain can be vaccinated against.

You can buy pears here, but frankly for beer, it's cheaper at the pub.

Americans who are 85 and older make up about 2% of the population and about 30% of covid deaths and hospitalizations.

Enough first doses have already been shipped to cover everyone in that demographic who wants one. Once they’re covered, that’s enough to make hospital overrun no longer an issue

I think we should all remember that anything virus-related that's bad that happens from here on out is the bad people's fault.

And that should be easily covered long before Sleepy Joe puts his hand on the Koran.

Not so sure about your conclusion, my buddy an ICU nurse here in CA just reported 12 COVID patients in ER alone and already have 19 in ICU and zero beds available in ICU. Oh and there’re not all 85 and over. Some are 20’s and 30’s.

Man, I went to Club Med Cancun in early 90’s; Cancun was like the newly built tourist strip mall, all new bldgs built for tourists, nothing original to see (well beaches and water, which were fantastic). Did see Chitzen Itza ruins in jungle, amazing scene.
