I ordered takeout during the summer from a fried chicken shack.

I got charged a $2-something “packaging fee” and a $1-something “service” fee. I didn’t know wrapping up my meal took that much effort. I’m sure the extra money only went to the person who handled service on it, right? (I really hope I don’t need blue font here.) The food wasn’t all that cheap, either. I haven’t gone back.

Places around here have also taken to a $5 “COVID-19 fee” if you dine in/outside. At first I was annoyed over this, but I’ve softened on it — as long as that money’s going to the servers and not getting pocketed by the owner. I’m not holding my breath.

I almost always tip 20 percent at a restaurant. My girlfriend moonlights as a waitress and a bartender and I’m with the Rick Stain line of thinking: I’m pretty fortunate and if I have to skip a Starbucks run, oh well.

I tipped $37 for my $13 haircut in May. Just handed her a $50 bill and said, "Bless you." :)

I tip a $1.50 per person at my home getting take out. It usually is about 10%.

Awesome ... and keep their legal bills piling up. Bury them in discovery and depos. Who cares if you win ... just bankrupt the fuckwads.
