My parents are both gone, so it just makes me want to take better care of myself so my daughter doesn't have to face that moment for as long as possible. I cannot watch that scene without it getting to me.

Weird sliding doors on Schitt's Creek from Wikipedia - Alexis was originally going to be played by Abby Elliott. I liked her on SNL and the other bit roles she's been in, and think she could have done well in the part, and you can see what they were shooting for because her dad is in the main cast.

 

I ugly cried at the Aberfan episode.

 

That's more than the queen could manage, apparently.

 

I was absolutely hooked on this show during its run on CBS in the 80s. Excellent writing and storylines. Lost a lot when Ken Wahl left the show, though. Enjoy.

 

Finished Queen’s Gambit last night. Without getting into spoilers, I think the last episode was good but a maybe a 7/10 for me and perhaps a little less subtle than the preceding episodes.

 

Alexis' story arc is one of the most fascinating ones I've ever seen on TV. I mean, most all of us have known dozens of individuals in real life who each had exactly one of her personality traits...but it's rare to see someone grow from one to the other to the other and so on as she develops before your eyes like Alexis did.
