    "Roadways" sted of "roads".

All part of a fallacious veneer for a profession that requires neither a certificate nor a college degree.

Not so much. Just not enough effort to translate officialese into non-jargon English.

Meh. Tired of this take. About 20 years after I graduated with a BSJ, I went through my old college folders/notebooks. I was impressed with how through my journalism education had been.

I don't doubt that. But that doesn't make what I said untrue.

Here’s a pet peeve: “Sits.” "Sat."

Hey everybody! I can write like a scout talks!

Spnited used to hate 'win' being used as a noun. I've been fixing it the way he liked ever since.

Lee-Davis High School outside Richmond is changing its name and nickname (Confederates). While it's long since time for the name to go, I always thought it was a missed opportunity for the women's teams not to be the Confederettes.

A really good friend of mine through high school and college - and his wife, who I got to know in college and for years after they were married - live in Virginia where their children attended Robert E. Lee High School. IIRC, the school is now simply named for the town in which they're located. Nice place the couple of days I spent with them some years back, the sort of town that feels at home but deserves to not be mired in the Confederate argument.

What would the Dukes of Hazzard's Dodge Charger be named now?
"Our Liberty Red is really Orange, but in spite of its really heavy curb weight, it flies like a bird?"
What would be painted on its roof, if anything?

This crap continues to happen at a station in town. No surprise. Filled with non-journalists and those who can't write.

A juvenile female and an adult male were found shot and transported to the hospital in the Federal Boulevard and Bates Avenue area on Monday evening, Denver police reports.

    In other words:

A girl and a man were shot and taken to a hospital near Federal Boulevard and Bates Avenue on Monday night, Denver police said.
