It hit all the right notes for me.

The character at the end really looked a lot like a character from the beginning.

Sometimes the exposition elevates a story to new heights. I think without question, it happened here.

Also, she’s literally the white queen in the last scene.

The chess themed colors in the last episode were very on the nose.

I think there's also something to be said for a show coming out at the "perfect" time, and I think Queen's Gambit fits the bill perfectly, from an overall tone standpoint. Without getting into spoiler territory, I think it provided a good dose of what the audience needed at the time.

Ken Wahl and Ray Sharkey worked well together from day 1 in Wiseguy.

    Sharkey had It.

Too bad he was a scumbag in real life if what's written is true.

David Marciano played this 1-off character and nailed the scene.

This is how you play cuckoo before you get killed.

Eh, it was a feel good ending - I mean the ending ending. I really really enjoyed Queen's Gambit. From beginning to end.

My wife and I watched early in 2020, and it is now in syndication (or still on Netflix). I told my wife that I could see it being like Seinfeld reruns, where I will always give it a watch if nothing else is on. And there are no bad seasons, like seasons 1 and 2 of Seinfeld.

Just my opinion, but David and Alexis just carried that show to it's heights. The rest of the cast, while all well and good, could have been interchangeable (if you made the argument for Moira, I would accept it, I just didn't find her all that great. And the Chris Elliott character was a drag on the show).

David and Alexis are such stars. So likeable, so quirky, so funny. They were the superstars on a superstar show.

I kind of wonder how the show developed - Especially that first season, it's like first season The Office, where everything is just a bit too mean. The Chris Elliott character is a good example - it's not hard to imagine the show going in a different direction, and instead leaning into the cheap gags involving him. Instead, by the final season, even he has some "hero moments," like when he sticks up for Johnny with the venture capitalists. David Levy seems to get the lion's share of credit for the show, and you can kind of "feel" him getting more control of it as it goes along.

We finished the Queen's Gambit last night and we really enjoyed it start to finish.

As I said, I'm rewatching Schitt's Creek right now, and I think I just watched the first real watershed moment for Alexis. When she and David are at the goat farm eating the cheese and she realizes that it's Ted's girlfriend. And she lets it go and lets David get the contract because it will help the store. I think that's the first time Alexis stepped outside of herself.

Watching The Flight Attendant. It is very solid. I am very appreciative of all of the hot mostly naked men wandering around the show.

Also I really wish my boobs looked as good as Kaley Cuoco's.

Also finished the Queen's Gambit and enjoyed it very much. Thought it was the perfect length for a limited series. Stretching it out any longer would have diluted its impact, and telling it in fewer episodes would have kept some things out. Well done.

Finally finishing The End of the F***ing World on Netflix. Have about four episodes left. Cheeky, interesting British show with some fun plot twists.

Started The Boys on Amazon. That first episode ... it was something. Looking forward to diving into more.
