I can't begin to describe how much I hate this time of year.
It's nasty, cold, overcast for days on end, the ground is perpetually soggy, and it gets dark by freakin 5 p.m.
By 6:30, I just want to go to bed.

It's been pitch black here for 90 minutes.
It's 735 here, and I'm struggling to stay awake. But I know that if I go to sleep now, by midnight I'll be wide awake.

Been in 60's and glorious here the last two days.
Today, high of 32, winds screaming over 60.
    Back to 50's by weekend.

Today's Globe has a front page service piece on "How to Prepare Christmas Dinner If Your Power Goes Out in the Big Storm Christmas Eve Night." Delightful. Two inches of rain, 60 mph gusts, flash flooding as last week's snow melts and it's STILL better than if this was a blizzard. Then we might be without power for days in the cold.

We must adopt permanent daylight savings time. My state and Washington have approved it. Waiting on California.

Checked the 10-day outlook - I realize I live in the NW and it isn't a shock but we're looking at nothing but rain for the next week and a half.

Yeah, it's gonna suck. January and February are so freaking dreary.

It snowed here on Christmas eve and has rained about every other day since. The ground has been soggy-nasty ever since.

    I'll take rain/snow in this drought-stricken state.

California people are on board. We passed a measure allowing it, but I can't tell if it is the legislature or the feds who are slowing it down right now. Possibly both.
