Florida passed it a few years ago. I believe it will take action by Congress to make the change nationally.

I'm in favor of year-round DST, but school schedules will need to be adjusted so children aren't walking to school in the dark. That was the gripe in 1974 when Nixon declared DST to start on Jan. 6 because of the energy crisis.

The year Daylight Saving Time went too far

Can't happen fast enough. When it does Arizona and Nevada will probably come aboard too.

Arizona already doesn't change the clocks

Arizona stays at Standard time year-round, right? I think if Cali goes to permanent DST Arizona will too, to stay on the same time year-round instead of being one hour ahead, as it is four months of the year now.

Arizona is in a different time zone, though. So aren't they already an hour ahead? Or is there is a two-hour difference between Arizona and California half of the year?

Arizona is an hour up on California except when Daylight Savings begins. Arizona doesn't "Spring Forward" with the rest of the Mountain Time Zone, so it becomes defacto Pacific for half the year.

Arizona wouldn't have to change anything if California does away with Standard Time to stay on the same time. They don't change their clocks. It's California who springs forward to join Arizona in March and the rest of the Mountain Time who falls back to join Arizona in November. It would be interesting to know what the Mountain Time Zone would do if California and the other West Coast states are on the same time for 8 months of the year.

Yeah, I had it backwards. When I worked I had it down pat because I had to figure it out for games against UA and ASU.

Give it to the USPS or Moscow Mitch. They'll grind anything to a halt unless it's their pet project.

Try that in Montana and you have sunrise at 9:30 a.m. during the winter.

And it might stay light past 3:30 p.m.
