There's a convenience store I frequent that says 72 people are allowed.

72 people in this store would look like a rugby scrum.

Another convenience store I go to lists its limit as 10.

The stores aren't that different in size.

Not super worried for me for the moment. For the country as a whole, sure, the vaccine rollout has been worse than I could have dreamed. I could get a test tomorrow if I was willing to drive a little farther (about 25 minutes), but that's not easy for me with my kid, who has some car issues.

I'm torn on whether to count from the first time I had some sinus congestion (well before christmas) or from when my sense of smell disappeared (Dec. 28).

As of right now, I feel 99% normal. The sinus congestion is gone. My sense of smell has gone from absolutely zero to maybe 10% of normal. I might be a little bit fatigued, but I'm a middle-aged single parent, I can't remember the last time I wasn't tired. No worse than usual.

I keep waiting for the hammer to drop. I know lots of people who have had it, and most of them never felt all that bad, but a few have stories that go "I felt fine for the first 3/4/5/6 days, then the hammer dropped."

My colleague in Manila tells me they have implemented a hard quarantine which means he can not leave his home without governmental approval. Said they had a huge rush on stores as people stocked up supplies for two weeks.

Heard back from a nursing friend that there is a test you can take after receiving the vaccine to verify that it "took."

“.Antibody tests for SARS-CoV-2 assess for IgM and/or IgG to spike or nucleocapsid proteins” “thus, a positive test for spike protein IgM/IgG could indicate either prior infection or vaccination”. - the CDC

One building probably had the occupancy done before they decided to make it a Convenience store. The Shopping isles make a ton of difference.

Well, I'm vaccinated. I got the Moderna version.
We have a state-owned facility, and that's where I went. You snaked about 3/4s of a mile through the place from where you entered until you got your shot. The first half mile was single file and moved remarkably quick. After that, they broke you into two lines toward a tent that held four cars at a time. That part was a little slower. I spent an hour and a half in line. I expected much longer. I took snacks and my Kindle but never really needed it because the line kept moving. I didn't even put my truck in park because you were never still long enough to worry about it.

What resources were you given to insure you return for your second shot? Just curious.

Yeah, you draw titers and check the immunoglobulins. I said it upstream, you can check them, same as checking if your ten year plus old Hep C vaccine is still holding. The limiting factor is cost, that and there's no real reason to do them if you take both shots (except doubt and paranoia). Most likely your insurance will make you pay a couple of hundred dollars out of pocket to get them done as there is no medical necessity for drawing titers on a fresh innoculation.

How do you ensure that those patients return? You can't, really, other than assigning someone to call everyone who misses their date to return and pester them. Most folks will come back, because the whole idea is to gain immunity to Covid, but if the "muh freedom" or "I already got one" crowd wants to show their asses, whatcha gonna do, send the local sheriff after them?
