Also ... keep score of every soul who is participating in this. Because, frankly, ignoring them for the balance of their terms in office is fine here. Not a word about "well, we need to be bipartisan and we need to listen to them." Just how many years have they ignored every non-Republican morsel of input over the years? Two can play that game and, in this case IMO, this will not cause harm to the country. But they will howl. Just like a 2-year-old, send them to their rooms with no dinner when they do.

All 10 living former Secretaries of Defense, including Don Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney (!!!) had a joint op-ed in the WaPo saying the military must not be involved in the election and telling Acting Secretary that he needs to cooperate in the transition. I don't think they would have done this if current Pentagon officials hadn't passed the word that this is indeed a plan the Trump administration is considering.
