First of all, go fuck yourselves. As horrible as yesterday was, it was a long way from tanks and troops and guns and throwing thousands of political prisoners into jail or killing them, the way some of you other countries are prone to.
Second, I think the way it ended was one of American democracy's finest hours. The symbol of the people ruling was besieged by thousands of violent idiots, but it was cleared out by dark (I loved one commentator who said it would be, because there were no bathrooms and it was getting cold) and the House and Senate returned and within eight hours and got the people's business done: confirming the true results of the 2020 presidential election.
The fuckwads trashed one of the symbols and institutions of our nation but didn't trash democracy. They were abject failures, as was their pathetic, pitiful little man who will be their leader for only 12 more days.
We went from one of the low points of our history to one of the high points, in a matter of hours. That's what we do. And to hell with any third-world country who wants to drag us down to their sorrowful level.
