No, although Maine still kicks the idea around. They've got a case. Sunset in December way down east is before 4 p.m.

Maine could pull it off because it is sort of by itself in terms of defined geography.
Massachusetts would probably be more difficult because I'm sure there are plenty of people and business that go back and forth each day between Boston-Providence-Hartford-Springfield.

Bermuda is in the Atlantic zone. It is also almost directly due south of Boston, which is why we're the shortest flight there from the States. I've been there a couple times and didn't really notice the difference, but of course I wasn't there in the winter.

I grew up just one county east of the Central Time Zone border, which is great if you're a kid. Doesn't get dark until 9-9:30 p.m. in the summer.

The wife's family lives on the western edge of Central time (5 miles from Mountain). I grew up and live on the eastern edge of Central time.

Nice to enjoy long days on the patio until 10-10:30 p.m. when we visit in the summer. But damn it's tough waking up to an 8 a.m. sunrise during our winter visits.

But sucks absolute ass when you have to do a down and back for something that starts at 7 p.m. in Sparta or Cookeville

I lived about 20 miles east of the Mountain Time Zone for five years. Summers were great, light until 10 and then twilight for another 30 minutes, with sunrise at about 5:30 a.m.. Winter was holy hell, though, dark until 8:30 a.m. and then dark again by 4 p.m. To say nothing of 20-30 below.

No, but I used to be happy on the Saturday night when the bar that would normally close at 2 a.m. would fall back at 1:59 and then we’d get an extra hour of drinking.

It sucked on the Saturday night before Spring Forward, though.

It doesn't matter if it is January or July, I have gotten up before the sun my entire adult life. Mon-Fri, my alarm is set for 5 a.m., but I usually wake up at 4:45. During the winter months like now on Sat-Sun, I sleep in until 6-6:30, but I don't even do that when it's warm. I've got better things to do than sleep.

Our pressroom always insisted our deadlines be an hour earlier the night of Spring Forward.

Never gave us an accompanying break the night of Fall Back.
