President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

John Oliver labeled some of the crap Trump and his minions pulled as Stupid Watergate and Stupid Watergate II.

This would be the stupid coup, because despite the treasonous intent, it really had no chance of accomplishing anything.

 

There is a story on our TV station's website to the point of "locals who traveled to DC rally now butt hurt they are associated with it."
One of them was a preacher from a megachurch.
Too. Damn. Bad.
You know how not to not be associated with it? Don't go. Stay your ass home.

 

I have no doubt legislators would have been killed if the opportunity presented itself. The gallows erected outside weren't for show. The flexicuffs and weapons weren't ornamental. You could say the "stupidity" of the attempt makes it less of a threat, but the same could be said of 9/11.

 

It’s amazing what you can get away with in life if you're white and you follow certain social norms. As long as you don’t yell or scream and walk at a certain ambling speed inside, you can storm the U.S. Capitol. If you wear Wranglers and sip coffee, you can refuse to wear a mask in a place requiring a mask.

Order. It’s all a lot of people want. Even if it’s treason or spreading a pandemic disguised as order.

 

The downside is the poor dance moves.

 

Honestly, if they had gotten their hands on Pence, dragged him outside, and got the noose around his neck before being shot dead, it might not have been a bad thing. Maybe then people would open their eyes and shut their mouths.
