This helps explain why in the past two years Arizona has elected two Democratic senators and went for Biden in the election.

The head of the state GOP is a crackpot who got the leadership position after her failed attempts to run for statewide office.

That’s from Jan 2020. Unless it’s a typo and supposed to be 2021.

I highly rec the article below. Some very incisive observations with regard to Trump's suddenly much more complicated position with regard to pardons and the risk of new charges of obstruction.

Him pardoning his inner circle is practically a given. Now that he doesn’t have to spend time on Twitter, though, he can expand his list to include the likes of Assange, Snowden and Terry Nichols.

Oh, the inner circle totally gets exposed. Especially Pence. None of them will get pardoned after doing all of his dirty deeds. This guy only cares about himself.

To a degree, both of you are correct. The real threat is not from the underclasses. It is from people who have achieved a certain degree of comfort and influence and it is still not enough. There were people at the attack that Trump himself allegedly referred to as "low-class." There were also people with professional backgrounds and degrees of wealth we don't associate with this kind of thinking and behavior. There is something missing, something they feel they are owed. Maybe it's something as simple a higher degree of social cache they do not have in their hometowns. Howard Stern commented that DJT wanted to be accepted by and considered one of the "Beautiful People." We've heard he wanted to go to film school and he courted the company of well-known actresses.

The sad thing about this is, many of these people have done well for themselves. Donald Trump had a popular television series and probably more than enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life. Why want more? Is it the simple fact that someone else has something and he has to have it? As reductive as that might seem, it's probably pretty close to the truth. The tragedy is that he could have enjoyed nearly everything the world had to offer, and he could have done so without leaving a swath of destruction trailing behind him. His followers probably have similar mindsets. They are not going to be content with their own comfort and the adoption of a live and let live outlook.

I think you're underestimating his followers. Earlier, I wondered if driving them underground was a good idea. It's still cause for concern.
