I’ve worn a Submariner just about every day since my 50th birthday. It’s been hunting, fishing, working on cars, brush hogging, to weddings and funerals and baptisms (in the Before Times). The only time I don’t wear it is when I’m running or cycling.

If somebody like me can wear a Rolex daily, I damn sure don’t have a problem with Biden owning a few.

Agree. I know a couple guys that are far from jetsetters but wear their grandfather's Rolex, and don't care what it's worth because they'd never sell.

I can't get too worked up over that story. It's in the "Men's Style" section, there might not be much to write in that section about Biden besides his watch, and we're at Peak Joe right now.

Trump, spent $130,000 on a $300 whore. Biden can wear a Rolex. He earned it.

I have no idea who he would have been. I know how a person like he was then would be received now.

As for applying 2020 morality, let’s explore that. What are the pratfalls of that? Which party generally does that now?

Doris Kearns Goodwin had an old story about once consulting with LBJ while he was on the dumper. That's old-school politicking, right there.

I don't know how he'd be received. As salty as he was, I am confident there wouldn't be multiple sexual assault allegations levied against him.

LBJ was a guy, Trump is a child playing a man playing a leader.

I had an editor who thought nothing of calling staffers while on the can and actually passing a steamer during the call.
And that was the least of his issues.

I haven't watched MSNBC much at all, but it was on at lunch today. Sharpton sounded coherent for the first time I can recall. He made sense and wasn't ranting like a lunatic. Best line: He was talking about the daily press briefings. He said they are press briefings, not a reality show where someone is going go have their hair pulled out.
