Alt take: Trump fomented an insurrection from the Oval Office and a democracy can’t let that slide and hope to survive.

I think I read somewhere that Ryan and his family had moved to the DC area. Perhaps residency requirements are as lax in Wisconsin as they are in Missouri. But I do wonder if he'd have to re-establish something in Wisconsin in order to run. That would be kind of interesting, but Ryan already backed away from elective office rather than deal with Trumpism. Johnson is in many ways the most disappointing Senator. You expect gutless adherence to Trump and his klan out of Senators from SEC states. Johnson seems to be the farthest to the right of any Senator from a competitive state. Am I missing somebody?

I'm bummed that story broke on a Friday night.. It'll be forgotten by Monday. If it had dropped on a Monday morning, it would have gotten some play. It is a huge story.

    But what about his Peleton?

This. The New York Times style section can’t write a story analyzing the President’s accessory choices? It goes plenty deep talking about other presidents.

Maybe the headline was a little clickbaity but people pushing back are overreacting to the story. Every article by one of the big outlets doesn’t have to be about the life and death of the country.

It doesn't burn fossil fuels. So of course the Republicans rail against it.

The stories about Michelle Obama taking fancy vacations always appalled me. Pretty sure she always made more money than Barack until the Presidency and she had to quit work.

By Monday, Republicans will argue that Peloton is based in Wuhan and Rolex is a wholly owned subsidiary of Burisma.

Johnson had gone on the record in 2016 as saying this term, his second, would be his last. He has since walked a lot of that back. Another alternative would be seeking the Republican nomination for Governor in hopes that the various true believers would back him against Tony Evers, the well-meaning but mostly thoroughly stymied Democratic incumbent.
