    Build high speed train lines. Build something that has a positive effect on the people. The pipeline was for exports. The land used did not cost the pipeline owners fair market value, but subsidized.
    If it’s about 1,000 jobs, any infrastructure project could absorb those jobs. It’s about profits for BigOil and using the government to keep legacy industries profitable, by any means necessary.

    There’d be some poetic justice to an airport named after a guy whose plane will probably be repossessed or sold off.

    The thing is … he’s lying about it. I’ve already heard a mention of “stolen valor” from a vet I know and respect about it.

    Any jobs lost on the pipeline can be replaced by fixing broken windows or digging ditches with spoons.
