I get the impression much of the progressive media - or any liberal media member under, say, 40 - thinks there’s anything to do but be thankful they’re not awful people, like the awful people.

There is probably a PH thesis to be written - actually a book or series of books about "cancel culture" and the "marketplace of ideas" in the context of "alternate reality" and the compromising of our social and governmental institutions such as the rule of law, law enforcement, science, journalism, religion, Wall Street, and the political system. Throw in the Internet's role in all of the above.
At least we still have sports. The scoreboard and the standings are what they are.

The committee that selected the names included Feinstein on the list because as mayor in 1984 she replaced a vandalized Confederate flag that was part of a long-standing flag display in front of City Hall. When the flag was pulled down a second time, she did not replace it.
