Why would they? Trump is a winning strategy for House republicans Gerrymandered in republican districts. Trump got 74 million votes after 4 years of killing the economy, foreign trade, the deficit and 424,000 Americans. Why would they not love that.

 

I actually think the lack of a "cult of personality" with Biden is a big plus. Wait until he rolls out a real Infrastructure Week...
I don't see the Dems losing seats in 2022 in the Senate - Wisconsin, NC and PA are flippable and OH too if a Trumpist is the GOP nominee. But - and I imagine Trump takes great solace in this - Trump is the key. If he can still energize and turnout his base and remain politically viable, he can continue to dominate the party - but right now the party is in the midst of a civil war to figure out a path forward. It's going to be a Trump party or a Cheney party. I'd be stunned if it isn't settled within two or three months.

At the same time, a junior party representative from Florida flew to Wyoming to essentially campaign against an established leader from his own party in a non-election year.
