She's stupid, but NOBODY LIVES IN THAT STATE.

Their numbers are a drop in the bucket, per-capita percentages notwithstanding.

The fact that one has to click to see whether a headline is Borowitz/Onion or Republican is really all that’s important. The conservative Christians are just insane. 23F4B8E8-3A38-4768-A10F-DB011384F87D.jpeg

My wife's family is from South Dakota. Some still live there. Yes, it's a small state. But that makes the emotional toll harder. Almost everyone knows someone who died of Covid, either a friend or relative. Guy who lived across the hall from my in-laws in their assisted living facility died. So did several other people they knew for decades.

That the numbers are small is not an excuse for sacrificing your constituents on the altar of political ambition and expediency.

You are smarter than this. Per-capita percentages absolutely do matter.

They help tell how bad a state sucks. But Wyoming and the Dakotas sucking isn't as catastrophic as California and Texas sucking.

    Per the WaPO:

"In the Senate, Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) have come to terms on how to run a 50-50 chamber after weeks of negotiations. Democrats hold the tiebreaking vote with Vice President Harris.

“I am happy to report this morning that the leadership of both parties have finalized the organizing resolution for the Senate. We will pass the organizing resolution promptly today,” Schumer said in remarks on the Senate floor.
