Well ... I'd take a flyer on Carson Wentz. Ryan Pace needs someone if only because it might make people forget that he moved up (!) in the draft because he was concerned that someone would get ahead of him for Mitch Trubisky ... with Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson still on the board.

This must be Pace's last big call if QB play is suboptimal again, correct?

 

I’d start with looking at the teams records.

Maybe, but check out Gurley's rushing yards/Ram's leading rushing yards - they kind of match Goff's rise and decline.

And it really isn't just one player - rush yards per attempt (team) goes 3.3, 4.3, 4.9, 3.7, 4.3.

 

Well, I said the Bears would end up making the worst fucking possible move. And trading anything more than a sixth-round pick for Wentz and his contract might be it.

 

Anything more than a second (and maybe fifth) for Wentz isn't taking a flyer, it's mortgaging the whole damn paper mill.

 

I hear Mike Phipps, Bob Avellini and Vince Evans are available.

 

This flew under the radar yesterday. It seems like a minor thing since he plans to workout before the surgery, but it would be perfectly Jaguars if they draft the franchise savior QB No. 1 overall and he winds up battling shoulder issues his entire career.

I don't understand why the Bears just don't figure out a "prove it" deal with Mitchell. Guy was 6-3 as a starter. 67% Completion, 16 TDs, 8 picks. Given the zero faith the organization had in him he played perfectly decent.

I would like to see Trubisky get to a coach that can use him like Kyle Shanahan with the 49ers.
