So, this photo always hits me. I just love this photo. Striking.

I remember, as a kid, when my dad (boomer generation; I'm mid-40s) would praise a woman as "tough." It was meant for a good looking woman who had swagger, confidence and an "it" factor. I remember him saying, "Oooh, she's tough."

That's what I see every time in that photo. AOC is tough.

Yes! I made that realization after it was pointed out on Twitter. His dad is the former nyc police commissioner as I recall.

 

Ron Wright was a stage-4 lung cancer survivor who had been hospitalized twice in the last year for pneumonia. Getting COVID was for him a certain death sentence. So I doubt he was walking around maskless, but if he was, he got what was coming to him.
