Not really. They have an annual budget of $500 million and roughly 2,500 sworn officers making them one of the largest and best funded police departments in the country.

They're serious, well-armed and well-trained law enforcement who were failed by their superiors who made no effort to plan for 1/6.

The leadership, those people, the ones who have already resigned in disgrace should face criminal charges and, I think, when the full picture emerges, it will be a huge scandal because at least for some, they were co-conspirators. The ones who weren't, they didn't do their jobs because they didn't want to get an angry tweet from Trump and because the terrorists were white. There's zero doubt that the stance and preparation for 1/6 would have been completely different if it had been Black and brown people involved.

 

The Swiss Guards never would have allowed anything like that to happen.

That ragtag army of ghouls and goblins would have been cut to shreds and bits as our distant forefathers also would have made certain.

 

Give them automatic weapons and have them guard the Capitol like in European cities.
