I'm not even a DMB fan, but it kind of seems silly to me to have the HoF and not have bands like them and Phish in, but The Grateful Dead are in.

He's been one of the biggest touring acts for decades. That alone should get him nominated.

I'm not even arguing DMB should be in the Hall. I just don't understand how an act - any act - can be a finalist last year and excluded this year. I guess the Hall just wanted some social media viralness last year so they included DMB to get their fans to vote.

DMB is the new Rush. (In terms of HOF complaints, at least)

When I saw Tina Turner in the "What's Love Got To Do With It" tour at the Universal Amphitheater, Todd Rundgren and Utopia opened for her. Just sayin'

Who should get in: King, Turner, Iron Maiden, The Go-Go's, LL Cool J
Who should get in eventually: Chaka, Devo, New York Dolls, Rundgren
Who should never get in: Jay-Z, Blige, Bush, Warwick, Rage Against the Machine

I have nothing to add to this discussion other than, holy shit, the Foo Fighters have been around for 25 years already? Fuck, I’m old.

Huh? I don't follow that reasoning.

They're all jam bands. I think The Dead get a "pass" because they came up in the 1960s, but I don't see a huge difference between them, Phish and DMB. All three are very prominent if you Wikipedia the term.

Over 30 when you count Nirvana.
