Has anybody else just reached a breaking point with this shit, mentally? I'm single. And if you were single before last March and you managed to somehow find something worthwhile during this mess of social distancing and masks and no touching!, congrats, I guess. Because pandemic dating is fucking garbage. I thought there was some sort of chance of maybe going to a baseball game this summer, but there's no way. It's not happening. Most of us won't be vaccinated until the late summer at best. It's been like 40 degrees and cloudy almost every day here for a month, piled on top of this. I don't know how teenagers are actually surviving this shit mentally. Or parents with young kids who are teaching and working. We hoped there was some sort of light at the end of the tunnel, and all I see is darkness, and it's all the fucking Trump administration's fault. There was a path forward with vaccination protocol and planning but he gave no fucks. I hope he dies of a heartattack in front of his family watching the impeachment trial. He deserves it. Fuck him. /rant

Stay strong and try to remain positive even though it’s tough right now. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. May not be here soon enough, however, we will get there. My PMs are always open if you need to talk more.

I appreciate it. It actually feels better to have typed the words. I don't know what it is about this week that's kind of thrown me into a funk. Maybe the end of football season, I don't know. We'll take deep breaths and plow through but it's good to just let it out and rant every once in a while.

I’m not a video game person, but I actually think the escapism of an immersive video game might be more healthy for teens right now than real life.

I definitely feel you, and not that saying hang in there means much, but I will anyway.

I hit a wall a few weeks ago. Not single but for many of the same reasons. Just seems endless, combined with my mom having health problems and I can’t see her in person.

But I’m trying to really look at the trends and keep hopes up. Cases and deaths are going down. Vaccine production and distribution is ramping up.

I hope to be sitting at a baseball game in July or August.

I’m hoping that even though it will probably be no sooner than summer when I can get vaccinated (and possibly not until the end of the year) that the snowball can start picking up snow and transmission rates will start declining dramatically. If that happens, I can reevaluate my comfort level with, say, outdoor sporting events.

1.6 million doses injected today. That's 300K more than last Wednesday. We have seen a corresponding rise from the previous week for the last week or so. We should be near or surpass 2 million on Thursday; we had 1.7 million last Thursday.

The variants are troublesome, however. It feels like a race against the clock.

No one is factoring in the new, more sinister strains.
There’s a reason the CDC is suddenly all about double masking.
Sorry to leave a turd in the punchbowl but things are still way too dicey to be relaxing any restrictions and yet here we are.

I have my own restrictions and I enforce them on myself. I wouldn't eat a meal at a restaurant or go to a gym or museum or theater for very large sums of money. It's a dull existence, and I get why people are freaking out from it, because I do so from time to time, but I'm letting rational me run the show right now. I will probably (please) be vaccinated fully by the end of April, but I'll still wear a mask except out on the golf course.

I keep thinking that post COVID-19 will be a re-birth of the '70s (if you know what I mean - wink, wink). Seriously, I hugged some family members over the holidays, but that's about it in the last year.
