Maurkice Pouncey was already in steep decline. He was once a hell of a player, but that was not the case in 2019 or 2020. I feel the guy having his career end on that playoff disaster against the Browns, especially when it was his mistake that started the snowball down the hill, but it was time for him to go.

It was out there for a while that Pouncey was going to retire. This was just making it official. The expectation led to some speculation about Roethlisberger also calling it a career because those two are close, but I think he returns for one more season. He will do it behind an offensive line that could be even more of a mess in 2021. Pouncey wasn't good, last year, but they don't really have a viable replacement. The Steelers could have new starters at left guard and at least one tackle spot, too. Alejandro Villanueva and Matt Feiler are likely to be gone. Zach Banner, who started the opener at right tackle and tore up his knee, is also a free agent.

Pouncey's retirement gives the team a little cap relief, but he will still cost them over $6 million in dead money.

Why there? Why not Buffalo, the Rams, Cleveland or Tampa, to join Brady's band of mercenaries. Or KC, for that matter. He won't cost much. About 20 teams should be calling him right now.

Kinda says the Texans think his body is broken, doesn’t it?

I mean, they’re awful at evaluation, so that might not mean anything.

Garrett and Watt would be terrifying.

He still played 16 games and 85+ percent of snaps, and managed to put up some numbers. At worst, he's probably in the "situational rusher" portion of his career.

Or Steelers to be on the same team as his brothers?

Honoring the wish of the white defensive superstar who wants to leave while publicly blowing off the same demand from the black star QB is peak Texans.

    That's a ridiculous take.

Which one of those guys is more valuable at this stage of their careers? The 30-something oft-injured DE coming off a five-sack season? Or the 25-year-old QB who threw for 4,800 yards, 33 TDs and 7 interceptions last season?
