    I think we established a while back that there was nothing that they couldn't ignore. The only wild card is the possibility of leadership deciding to actively cut Trump loose. I don't see anyone brave enough to stand up and fight.

    With regard to that, there is no way that Trump's Secret Service detail did not know that Pence had been evacuated. Zero possibility. They knew in real time, or next thing to it.

    I think the best we could hope for is 55-56 votes to convict, which I think will happen. That puts it in the historical record that more than half the U.S. Senate - in a bipartisan count - agreed Trump is guilty, and those who voted along Republican lines put party before country.
    Make their descendants own it.
