2020-21 Baseball Offseason Thread

The Philadelphia Phillies just re-signed all-star catcher J.T. Realmuto for $115.5 million for five years. This is weird. Are there going to be fans at Spring Training? Is this supposed to help at the gate? Shoot - the guy is a 33-year old who hasn't been north of the Mendoza line in a while. Then again - I'm guessing the Mets could use the distraction.

The more things change...

 

No one questions his work ethic, so the Mets must see him as a great example for their younger players. He might draw a few more fans to those early exhibition games when everyone knows the regulars won't be playing.

Otherwise, it's just Murphy money, which doesn't cost them much of anything.

 

Not really sure where to put this. Never seen this interview before and I’m a big Letterman fan. This is a must watch.

 

He alone makes the Baseball series worthwhile every time it's on MLB Network.
