By far the most amazing and horrible quote about today comes from Politico's account where Delaware Senator Chris Coons, a Biden confidant, tells the House managers they can't call witnesses because "people here want to be home for Valentine's Day." The Senate should be and never will be abolished.

 

Meanwhile at the Keystone Diner in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, Eddie Simons, a Biden voter and manager of a Lowe's said, "Witnesses? Every American is a witness to the f*ckin' horrible job Trump did as president. F*ck that psycho and his cringing enablers. Now get cracking on that covid relief. And oh yeah, Breyer should retire some time this year."

National media needs villains - real
and actual - though. Maybe it always did. Certainly Fox News has long created villains out of thin air.

I do not understand why there has been a mid March date bandied around for the COVID package. It’s clear Republicans aren’t hopping on board. Democrats should ram it through now. Get help now to people who need help now.

 

I think that’s accounting for the inevitable four corners offense from the GOP to try and run down the clock. Plus it does take a little time to actually write up the thing.
