Red States are net welfare states, getting more tax money per capita than they pay in. Some of that is lots of federal lands in the west and the abundance of military installations in the confederacy. Also white Republican Christians are less educated and productive than their ethnic countrymen

I think it’s obvious Biden has to get rid of the filibuster if he’s going to get anything done and he knows it. It must be gone for him to enact gun control, but what will the issue that triggers its removal? I think it will be the Voting Rights Act

 

Have the filibuster but make a senator remain on the floor for the duration of the filibuster. If you can hold the floor you can keep it. But 60 votes to shut debate is not a filibuster.
