The Victoria franchise in the summer wood bat West Coast League also had a woman pitcher for several seasons.

The Mets signed Kevin Pillar. With no DH this time around in the National League, they are going to have to play Dominic Smith in left field to get him regular playing time. I imagine Pillar will be a fourth outfielder behind Smith, Nimmo, and Conforto. They certainly aren't lacking for depth with Villar and Pillar signed to part-time/reserve roles.

The Mets being the Mets, they’ll be bringing Kevin Millar out of retirement next.

"Grandpa, can you tell us again about baseball? You know, from the olden days?"

Live balls, dead balls and the Blackhorse cypher: What exactly has MLB been doing with the game balls over the past couple of years?

Did MLB Use Juiced Balls in 2020? — Sports Illustrated

It looks like they tried to experiment with the ball in spring training last year, but then spring training went sideways along with everything else and somehow the experimental balls got mixed in with the regular-season production run. I think. I could be wrong.

I didn’t think you could do worse than Bud.

Manfred has reached the unreachable star.

Baseball is dying even faster than I thought it was. It’s now hockey.

My only hope is that the Padres (or second choice Dodgers) steamroll into a title with their stud rotations and kill the 4 inn starter and openers and bring back the star SP.

I see why you say that, but personally I can't wait for the season to start.

Oh, I love baseball as much as ever. But trying to talk baseball with anyone my own age offline is like asking them what they know about the Franco-Prussian War.

    Pitchers and catchers.

Winter, it's time for you to leave.
