People have been predicting NC as the next purple state for years. No signs of meaningful change. A gun shop owner still represents a large metro area in the House. A barely legal Neo Nazi wins a House seat of his own. Burr votes against the lord and savior and gets reprimanded by his klan. A Trump is now eyeing the Senate, and the GQP klan leadership seems intent on wooing her to replace Burr. Tillis, a complete idiot, wins another six-year term.
Good for the Triangle for developing a biotech industry and good for Charlotte for becoming a banking hub. East of Raleigh and west of Charlotte are still populated with a disturbing number of people who believe the country needs to revert to 1956.

 

Relected a Democratic governor and Biden lost by a tick under 75,000 votes out of more than 5 million cast in a state that has been more aggressive and effective than most when it comes to voter suppression. I wouldn’t abandon ship just yet.
