The life of a US Senator is a permanent vacay. Literally no heavy lifting. You have millions of dollars at your disposal to build a staff to handle everything and Senators don’t have to beg for contributions. When you’re 1 out of a hundred they throw a party for you everywhere.

Short of a road to Damascus conversion to full-scale progressivism - along the lines of demanding solar power panels be installed on every home in Texas - I'm not sure there's anything Cruz can do that would please his critics.

I think we may have a difference in opinion on what we're seeing from progressives. I don't really see politics from them so much as I see something closer to a religious movement. Cruz isn't so much an asshole to them as he's really a heretic.

It's a nice bit of irony for right-wing evangelical Christians, who once cornered the market in determining cultural heresy, to have a competing religion presented back to them in political terms, too. It's reason No. 1 for why intermingling a religion with one political party was an awful mistake.

He (still) wants to be president someday, and he can’t figure out this is a bad look? That’s on him. That’s like a NFL linebacker blowing off leg day.

I refuse to feel bad for mocking a politician who is bad at politicking. And I doubt it is just the Austin hippies scrubbing in a cold shower with patchouli soap who are pissed at him right now.

Nice to see all of your ridiculousness/attempted mind-reading/projection in one post. You truly are insufferable.

It’s Ted Cruz and the Fuck your Neighbor Christianity vs. AOC and the Fund your Neighbor Christianity.

the similarity is striking. Just change 2 letters.

We know they don't give a damn.

Why is the "act" so damn important to us?

It's like we're hellbent on electing the most fake good people we can sometimes. We don't even want them to "be" presidential. We always say "act.'' Just show me a pretty picture.
