    And today that sucker’s gonna land on Mars — and if you signed up for the “boarding pass to Mars” thing NASA did a couple of years ago, guess what? Your name is about to land on Mars.

    NASA estimates (still checking the time to see exactly when it was taken) the rover is about 6 feet from the ground in this photo.

    I don't get it. NASA landed on Mars in 1976. Why are we wasting MY MONEY going back to that lifeless rock?

    This shot was taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. When zoomed in (inset), you can see Perseverance on its way down with its inflated parachute trailing behind.
