This might be the most California post ever.

 

Sadly, that's why Kobe was in the helicopter to the Valley from Orange County. Traffic in "LA" is no joke. They refer to LA as one city but its really a sprawling metropolis of multiple metro areas. I mean Riviera is in northwest LA county, a loooooong way from Terranea, the resort in Orange County. At 9:30 PM, you leave the OC and it takes 90 mins to get to Riviera.

 

Believe me, I know. Not that I've ever lived there, but I've covered a number of events in the LA area, and getting anywhere in that sprawl is a major project.

 

Sadly enough all the more reason to have had a driver; together, they could have taken the carpool lane and carved out some time (not as much as they would have at say 11 a.m. as the diamond lanes on the 405 are pretty full in that direction that time of day).

Also early reports said Rolling Hills but stories I've seen today said he was heading back to Riviera. Which makes the direction he was heading in a bit odd, so maybe those reports were incorrect.

I’m seeing more references that it was a two day shoot at Rolling Hills. He was meeting Brees and Herbert at 8 am.

 

Terranea is in Palos Verdes, not Orange County

 

Okay, sorry, but its pretty close to the OC border (the southernmost part of LA county I'd say.)

 

It is 21 miles from the Terranea resort to Seal Beach, the northernmost OC town along the coast.
