Is there a Republican politician who has yet to make a big deal about refusing to be vaxxed?

I get my second shot Monday (Moderna)
I plan to keep doing what I’ve been doing for a while, especially because tourist season is gearing up and local merchants will want to make up for last year
Around Easter, my sister and I plan to go to Mark’s in Ocala for our first indoor dining since the pandemic hit

We're getting to the point where simple case numbers are not what we should be looking at when it comes to where the pandemic is going. Hospitalizations are the more important metric.

Like the last soldier killed on the day of the ceasefire in any war, I'd hate to for Gwen or me to be the last victim of this pandemic by being unlucky enough to run into the lone Typhoid Mary coughing in my face at the Publix/Kroger/Aldi/Ingles.

While you can never get to 0.0, I look at local vaccinations, our infection rates and our ability to move up the list -- which ain't happening in Georgia yet.

We've been patient. We can stay that way for a while longer. And honestly, we've talked about wearing the masks in public for who knows how long. No reason to get killed for a Bojangle's biscuit.

Slight threadjack, but your first line reminds me of how I’ve always found the stories of those killed at the end of Armistice Day in World War I to be fascinating.

The last American had written a letter home critical of the war, which was intercepted by the censors, and he lost his rank. After finding out the Armistice was going into effect at 11 a.m., he decided to charge the Germans in a effort to regain his rank. His fellow soldiers tried to stop him, and even the Germans were trying to wave him back before they felt like they had to fire at 10:59.

The last British soldier had fought through nearly the whole war, but was killed at 9:30.

Some commanders decided to sit tight, but others decided they wanted to continue right up to 11, so they were ordering their soldiers to attack, upon penalty of court martial and the death penalty if they refused.

Some American artillerymen found out that they could go back to camp after 11 a.m. But they didn’t want to load and carry the ammunition back, so ... what the hell, just fire it on the Germans.

Until Monday, I am thinking of John Cassavettes in The Dirty Dozen, sitting in the back of the Jeep with Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson, screaming “We made it!! We made it.” ... then getting immediately riddled by bullets from the chateau
    No early celebration from me

April, 1945, when Germans were surrendering by the thousands and WWII in the European Theatre was essentially over, was one of the worst months for American casualties. The true believers fought to the bitter end.

My brother-in-law died of Covid yesterday. Stay in your foxholes, boys.

He was elderly with a number of risk factors, it wasn't exactly a surprise, but still...
