In theory, you're right, but the progressive wing of the party that's pushing this doesn't want platform planks for the 2022 election, they want actual policies that pass and become law. However, like much of the McConnell era, the progressives want to run into a brick wall just to see how sturdy it is.

 

The big test will be when the updated voting civil rights act gets held up in the Senate. If they’re going to blow up the filibuster for anything, it will be for that. And if they’re too chickenshit to take a stand on that, they deserve to be abandoned in the midterms.

 

If that is the cpac entrance then I am thinking this is how she always enters the stage. There was another event not long ago...maybe the convention? and she did the same thing. Hard to take her seriously, time and place and all that.
