Got shot # 2 today. Moderna, no effects so far other than a slightly-sore arm. So glad to have that done with. Still gonna be very careful, but I'm another brick in the wall.

Continue to mask - double-mask if possible - and maintain social distancing protocol. You can’t be too careful.

California will begin allowing sports attendance April 1. It depends on what tier the county is in, but all the mlb stadiums will be in the 33% or 66% capacity tiers by then.

That's 1/6th of the teams in the league in possibly the most restrictive state

Every day when I look at the numbers, there seems to be a plateau. When will they begin plummeting again?

    Colorado only at 25% capacity.

Case numbers are still dropping, just not quite as fast as they were. A week ago the 7-day average on worldometers for the US was 71,281. Going into today, it's 64,158. It looks on pace to drop a couple of K today as well.

I'm not really sure what cases are going to do. I think the most likely scenario is that they continue to drop slowly, maybe with some temporary plateaus or blips, over the next few months.

Hospitalizations have continued dropping quickly. I expect them to drop below what we would colloquially consider a "pandemic" in no more than maybe 1.5 months, and never go back up.

Once again, Rick, I’m grateful for your context, even if I spout stupid shit contradicting you all over this thread.

I'm still an idiot. Just because someone disagrees with me doesn't mean they're wrong

Cases still dropping, albeit a bit more slowly than they were last month. Testing is going up, which is holding them up a little bit, positivity rate is dropping faster and is at the lowest level of the pandemic in most places.

Hospitalizations have divorced themselves from cases and dropped faster. Because we've vaccinated most of the most vulnerable and the disease is heavily lopsided in who it attacks, it is now far less dangerous on a per-case basis in the US than it was pre-vaccination.

At the current rate of hospital drops, the US will reach its lowest levels since we began counting properly in 14 days on March 19.

More Than 291 Million Shots Given: Covid-19 Tracker

The US gave out 2.4m shots today, a new record. The 7-day average is 2.08m per day, which is enough to fully vaccinate (two doses per person for most of them) more than 3% of the US adult population per week.

Just doing a quick look around, it looks to me like 24 of the 30 MLB teams have announced they will be allowing some number of live fans on Opening Day. 5 are TBA, and 1 (Nats) has had their request rejected by local government.

Left-on-left violence is like the defining characteristic of being on the left to begin with. It's what we do.

Yet when you do it, it's fine. When I did so, you were busy being the board police.
